Nutritional deficiencies such as a deficiency in vitamin A are the leading preventable cause of blindness worldwide. Poor nutrition, malnutrition, and regular intake of junks and unhealthy foods either because you love them or you don’t have time to cook can damage your eyes.
Eat a healthy and balanced diet, eat foods rich in vitamin A like Carrots, Papayas, and vegetables, vitamin E, and C, Omega-3 fatty acids and zinc are good for your eyes.
You should add citrus fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, fish, and leafy vegetables to your regular meals. These foods are good for healthy eyes and vision.
Water is also important for your eyes. Drink clean water always and avoid dehydration, it keeps the eyes well lubricated thereby fighting dry eyes and it also helps in the production of tears.

Many people find relief from eye itches and disturbances by rubbing them hard but this is not healthy because it breaks the blood vessels under your eyelids.

Your contact lens case can harbor dirt and harmful bacteria, this can lead to an eye infection. You should clean your case regularly and it is also advised that the case should be changed every four months.
Looking at Screens at Night
Looking at any type of screen right before going to bed in a dark room is not healthy for your eyes. These include TV, your smartphone, and laptops or computers.

Overstayed Eye Makeup

Sleeping with contact lenses or wearing contacts in the shower or pool is wrong. Wearing contacts in water increases your chance of infection which can lead to permanent damage like blindness.
Wearing old contacts, sharing contacts or switching contact case is wrong. Using a wrong contact lens also damages your eyes. Remove your contacts before going to bed at night.
